WINTER has well and truly settled in across Gippsland, with temperatures this week dipping as low as -3.5 overnight.
Many areas around Sale were transformed into a winter wonderland as heavy frosts coated the area on both yesterday and Wednesday mornings.
While the frosts made for a breathtaking sight, many locals' awe quickly turned to frustration as they were left having to scrape the caked-on ice from their car windshields. Reprieve is in sight though.
The Bureau of Meterology's forecast for the area next week makes no mention of frost - but winds and rain are on the cards.
