THE Great Victorian Camp Oven Festival is putting Heyfield on the map, with people from across Australia taking part in last weekend's festivities.
The festival, held at the Gordon street Recreation Reserve, attracted more than 2000 camp oven enthusiasts.
Organiser Lee Clarke described the two-day event as "fantastic''.
"It was a great day,'' she said.
"We probably had about 20 entrants in the main camp oven competitions, which is a huge increase on last year.
"We had about 85 separate campers, which was also a pretty big increase on last year.''
Ms Clarke said among the highlights of the festival was the woodchopping and country music entertainment.
