Cannabis charges

YARRAM police charged a 20-year-old Morwell man for possessing cannabis and driving offences on Saturday night.

Police were called to Cattanach Track, Robertsons Beach, after reports of a car driving erratically.

They interviewed the man who will be charged on summons for possessing cannabis, unlicensed driving and driving an unregistered vehicle.

POLICE in Yarram and the Wellington Traffic Management Unit have praised the behaviour of Happy Days Rock 'n' Roll festival patrons.

According to police, only one driver was caught exceeding the .05 blood alcohol concentration limit and another caught hoon driving.

Police said other than the two incidents, they were pleased with people's behaviour.

MAFFRA police are seeking information over damage to the green at Maffra Bowls Club at the weekend. Police believe the damage occurred between 7pm Saturday night and 9am Sunday morning. Anyone with information is asked to phone Maffra police on 5147 1026.

YARRAM police are seeking witnesses to a two-car collision at Woodside at the weekend.

Police were called to the intersection of the South Gippsland Hwy and Old Sale Rd after two vehicles, believed to be heading towards Yarram, collided between 2am and 2.20am. Both drivers left the scene. Police believe the cars were a white 1995 Holden Commodore and a dark green 1990 Holden station wagon. Anyone who witnessed the collision or has knowledge of the cars involved is urged to phone Yarram police on 5182 5033.
