A MAFFRA man involved in the recent spate of business burglaries in Maffra has been jailed for more than a year.
Twenty-two-year-old Maffra resident Jarrod Penington pleaded guilty to burglary offences in Sale Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
He was sentenced to a year and two months imprisonment for seventeen charges arising from nine burglaries in Maffra in recent weeks.
The sentence includes a non-parole period of five months.
Penington also received two months jail for another burglary charge, and was ordered by the court to pay $4290 in compensation.
On the same day an 18-year-old Maffra man was refused bail and ordered to appear in Sale Magistrates Court on June 15 for 12 offences arising from four burglaries in Maffra and another three burglaries in Sale in 2007.
Police arrested the two men, as well as a teenage girl, following a series of house raids in Sale and Maffra on Saturday.
The teenage girl received a caution for possessing stolen goods.
Police have stated numerous items of stolen property were uncovered during the investigation including two safes, computer equipment and mobile phones.
