A 21-YEAR-OLD man is recovering in The Alfred Hospital after he was injured in a motorbike accident on Sunday.
The Mt Evelyn man was riding on a rough road in Mioweir, south-west of Dargo at 11.30am when he came off his bike and struck a tree.
The group of riders he was travelling with called for assistance from the isolated area via a mobile phone.
Police, SES and Air Ambulance crews attended, with the man winched to safety before being airlifted to The Alfred Hospital with leg and facial injuries. It is understood the man arrived at the hospital in a stable condition.
SALE police are investigating a fire in Golden Beach which destroyed a home over the weekend.
The fire broke out at about 11pm on Saturday night at a holiday home in Astro Avenue, and is estimated to have caused $150,000 of damage to the three bedroom hardiplank home.
The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire, and the fire was contained to the premises.

ROSEDALE Police are seeking an owner for a small steel trailer which was found abandoned in the driveway of a residence in Albert St, Rosedale early Saturday morning.
The owner can claim it by contacting Rosedale police on 5199 2222.
BRIAGOLONG police are appealing for public assistance to find thieves who stole diesel petrol from a tank in the Boisdale area last month.
The thieves siphoned the petrol from the tank of an excavator parked at a property in Silas Rd, Boisdale sometime between October 9 and 28.
After emptying the tank the thieves filled the tank with sand, causing significant damage to the excavator.
