MAYOR Darren McCubbin has laid down a challenge to Wellington residents to join him in getting fitter.
The challenge has been issued to individuals, families and corporate groups to take part in the Mayor's Fitness Challenge.
``Over winter I have not been very active and have eaten poorly. It is fair to say I am not in the best shape and I want to change that,'' Cr McCubbin said.
``I am issuing a challenge for others to join me in getting fitter and healthier.''
The Mayor's Fitness Challenge involves a 12-week program at AquaEnergy in Sale to encourage physical activity and better health outcomes.
Participants sign up at AquaEnergy to undertake in the range of fitness activities at the centre such as group fitness classes, swimming and work-outs at the gym or walking around near by Lake Guthridge.
Entrants are given a scorecard to keep a record of their activities during the challenge.
