The Sale 545 Primary School grade six student has been selected in the Victorian primary schools under 12 football team, to complete in Mooroochydore, Queensland next month.

Nash, who plays in the Sale under 12s side, was the only Gippslander selected in the squad of 23 after more than 1000 from across the state tried out.

There is a history of members of this team going on to play in the AFL.

Nash will join with teammates to play in a series of practice matches and training sessions before competing in the School Sport Australia event in Queensland.

Nash is looking for sponsors to assist him play in the championships.
