MEMBERS of the Wellington Central Liquor Accord were full of praise for patrons after One Night Stand, describing their behaviour as "sensational''.
Accord member and manager of the Star Hotel Trent Fairweather said the night ran smoother than expected.
"It went really well,'' he said.
"Everyone was sensational.''
Mr Fairweather said the rain and cold weather probably kept a few people indoors.
"But all the venues traded really well, it was fantastic.
"There were no reported fights or incidents on licensed venues, everyone was really well-behaved.
"I think everyone was aware of the strong police presence and really took that on board.''
Despite numbers being down on initial expectations, Mr Fairweather said all the key venues on Raymond St were full to capacity.
"The Star, Jack Ryan's, Kaz Bah and Ringers were all full, the numbers on the street were down on what we expected ... but that's probably a good thing.
"Everyone arrived at about 10pm as we expected but they were pretty quiet and controlled.
"I think you could describe it almost as a school reunion-type weekend.
"Everyone came home to catch up and to show off Sale to their friends.
"It was just a great weekend.''
