SALE police are warning revellers they will be out in force tomorrow at the Sale Show.
This year marks the 150th year of the Sale Agricultural Society, and as such, this show is geared to be bigger than ever before, with thousands of people anticipated to go through the gates during the weekend.
According to Sale police Acting Sergeant Michael Clapton, officers will be patrolling the grounds from 4pm onwards and will be on the lookout for underage drinking and public intoxication.
"We will have an operation going on as we know alcohol and booze will be there tonight,'' he said.
"We've got a contingent of members to patrol the grounds on the night, as we anticipate the morning and afternoon to be pretty quiet this year.
"There were some problems on the gate last year in relation to youths trying to smuggle in alcohol, so this year there will be security on the gates doing bag checks.''
Act Sgt Clapton said while officers would make their presence known, he encouraged revellers to enjoy themselves responsibly.
"We're hoping everyone will enjoy themselves and stay out of trouble, as it's going to be a great couple of days.''
