THE World Harmony run came to Sale on Tuesday and briefly stopped at the Wellington Shire offices to meet with mayor Scott Rossetti and other Wellington Shire councillors.
The run is a global relay used for the purpose of spreading a positive message of friendship, harmony and peace.
This years run is the Australasian leg of the run, incorporating New Zealand and Australia and started in Christchurch, New Zealand on October 13, and will finish in Canberra on November 23.
Cr Rossetti thanked runners on behalf of all the councillors.
"I love the symbolism of `peace begins with us','' he said.
"I think what you're doing is making a difference.''
The runners taking part in this leg of the relay have come from all over the world, some coming to Australia just to take part in the run.
Before leaving Sale and making their way to Lakes Entrance, the runners sang the World Harmony run theme song for all the councillors.
