EXTREME FMX Motorcycles and a RAAF helicopter rescue demonstration have been named as highlights of this year's Gippsland Show, Sale.
This year also marked the 150th anniversary of the Sale and District Agricultural Society.
Society spokeswoman Gabrielle McMahon said the turnout for the show was good despite the rain on Friday.
"The numbers were good considering there was no public holiday on Friday this year,'' she said.
"There was 6000 and 7000 people attending the show as of Friday night.
"We were still pleased with the numbers.
"A lot of families made it out despite the heat on Saturday as well.''
Ms McMahon said the entries for art and crafts competitions were up on last year, especially in the student sections.
However she said the highlight was the Friday night carnival.
"The one roulette acrobatic show was great,'' she said.
"The RAAF helicopter rescue drew a really big crowd and Sam's Monster Trucks were a hit again.''
Ms McMahon said the Extreme FMX Motorcycles weren't able to perform on Friday night because the jumps were too wet, but managed to put on a great show on Saturday.
She said Saturday's grand parade was also a hit, with vintage cars and the Carlton Draught Clydesdale Team highlights.
The National Carrot Cake Contest was labelled a success by coordinator Rosemary Mowat.
She said it was well entered and was a difficult competition to judge.
The winner of the carrot cake professional section was Mark Fitt, Stradbroke and the open section was won by Bonne Laity, Paynesville.
The secondary student section was won by Christine Hahn of Perry Bridge and primary school by Madeline Churches, Nambrok.
The Carrot Marmalade Competition received 30 entries, with western Victoria's Maggie Carroll the winner.
Ms McMahon said overall the show was a great success.
"The Sale and District Agricultural Society thanks all the volunteers, sponsors and the local community who made this possible,'' she said.
