THIS Sunday afternoon sees the Maffra Eagles women begin their 2009-10 Country Basketball League season with a home clash against the Bairnsdale Bullets.
After finishing fourth last season, the Eagles are setting their sights high and with the inclusion of some new players and with the majority of last season's team remaining, the roster is strong and deep.
Bairnsdale has not had a women's team for a few years and not having played the pre-season tournament, pose an unknown threat to the Eagles.
Tip-off is at 1pm at the Maffra basketball stadium in Morrison St.
Admission is only $3 for adults, $1 for secondary school students and children are free.
THE Sale Sonics play their first home game for the men's season on Sunday against Bairnsdale.
The game at the OA Ruff Stadium tips off at 2pm.
This year the team is led by Tim Graham and Luke Smith.
