THE Sale Sonics men's team opened its Country Basketball League account with a 94-76 win over Bairnsdale at home last Sunday.

The game began at a frenetic pace, with both teams trading goals.

On a hot afternoon, the Sonics were able to make the most of their extended bench to ensure fresh legs on the court as the Sonics came out.

The Sonics head to Traralgon this Sunday with their next home game on Saturday, November 21 from 8pm also against Traralgon.

In the women's, the Maffra Eagles defeated Bairnsdale, 96-36.

The Eagles will play at Traralgon this Sunday from noon ahead of the T-Birds-Sonics men's game.
