CENTURIES are much harder to score in the one day matches than in two-day games, but they have been a feature of the first three rounds in Sale-Maffra cricket.
Brett Lanigan added his name to the century makers with 104 to help Maffra reach 3-208 in reply to Boisdale-Briagolong's 5-151.
In the match of the round, Collegians, 9-181, defeated Stratford, 8-163, in a game that produced several outstanding individual performances.
Bundalaguah scored 5-188 to defeat Wurruk, 8-130, to make it three from three and, in a low scoring match at Rosedale, Rosedale Kilmany, 116, defeated Sale, 81.
SENT in by Stratford, Collegians got away to a good start when opener Travis Ronaldson, 26, and Matt Goodwin, 15, put on 34 for the second wicket.
At 1-67 Collegians was looking good before Stratford spinner Jie Van Berkel had Ronaldson stumped, Goodwin was run out backing up, then Stuart Anderson was caught behind off Van Berkel. Suddenly Collegians fell to 4-71.
Geoff Wells, 41, and Jack Moore, 21, decided to go on the attack, adding 60 in their hard-hitting fifth wicket partnership. Luke Henderson scored 17 to take the score to 9-181.
Van Berkel picked up 4-47 from his eight overs.
Travis Millar, 36, and Nathan Thomas, 11, put on 52 in their opening stand for Stratford.
Jack Tatterson, 50, held the innings together as Stratford kept chipping away at the target. Jason Bruce, with 16, helped Stratford get within 17 runs, finishing on 8-163.
Anderson, with 2-26 off his eight overs, was the best of the Collegians' bowlers.
MAFFRA defeated Boisdale-Briagolong in a match where batsmen took full advantage of the ideal batting conditions.
Boisdale-Briagolong openers Toby Leeds, 50, and Steve Noble, 30, set the pattern for the day and Chris Dove, with 52 not out, helped Boisdale-Briagolong reach 5-151.
Thomas Love was the best of the Maffra bowlers with 3-28.
Brett Lanigan, 104 not out, and Tim Bourke, 39 not out, put on more than 100 in their unfinished fourth wicket partnership, while Daniel Cameron also batted well for 36 to help Maffra reach 3-208.
Brad Vanette took 2-22 for Boisdale-Briagolong.

Alan Campbell top-scored for Wurruk with 50 and Corey Sullivan, 20, helped take the score to 8-130.
Kris Morrison was the best of the Bundalaguah bowlers, taking 2-15.
Tom Tudor, 53 not out; Nathan King, 31; Nathan Fowler, 23, and Nathan Massey, 23 not out, scored most of the runs for Bundalaguah, who finished with 5-188.
ROSEDALE-KILMANY posted its first win of the season against Sale.
Brian Smith, 24, top-scored in Rosedale-Kilmany's total of 116.
Nathan Campbell, 3-28, and Matty Jackson, 3-12, picked up the wickets for Sale.
Ben Russ, 14, and Campbell, 12, were the only Sale batsmen to reach double figures with Rosedale-Kilmany bowlers Luke Goodwin, 4-25; Brad Scott, 3-11, and John Brough, 2-15, sharing the wickets.
