A CENTURY from Daniel Bedggood helped Bundalaguah claim the Sale-Maffra second grade cricket premiership.
During his man of the match innings of 120 Bedggood showed class to bat throughout much of the first day of the grand final against Collegians at the Sale Oval last weekend.
He took part in an 84-run sixth wicket partnership with Rod Aurisch, who made 39, and later added 65 valuable runs for the eighth wicket with Shaun Humphries, 40.
Bedggood was the last wicket to fall in the final over as Bundalaguah finished on 263.
Nick Armistead bowled well at the start of the innings for Collegians, finishing with 3-51, while Brother Paul Murphy took 5-62.
After a promising start, Collegians fell to 4-58 thanks to two wickets each from Ben Langshaw and Daniel Saunders.
Alan Griffin, 12, and Ryan Skeen, 25, took the score to 90 before they were dismissed in quick succession.
Matthew Davidson, 30, showed some resistance, but Collegians was eventually dismissed for 150.
Langshaw finished with figures of 4-23.
NAMBROK defeated Bundalaguah in the thirds grand final after a solid all-round performance at Stead St.
At 3-3, Bundalaguah was on the backfoot early, but Wayne Gray, 42; Brendan Bailey, 34; Jake Abrahall, 22, and Stewart Dyson, 21, helped take the score to 152 before the side was bowled out in 42nd over.
Ross McMillan claimed 3-25 with two wickets each to Aaron Wellins, Paul March and Craig Arbuthnot.
Nambrok had little trouble in reply with man of the match McMillan and Jeff Curran, 49, posting an opening stand of 63 late on Saturday. By stumps, Nambrok needed only 20 runs to win with eight wickets in hand.
McMillan scored 68 as Nambrok took 10 overs on Sunday to secure the premiership with four wickets down.
Gray took two wickets for Bundalaguah.
BUNDALAGUAH won a thrilling fourths grand final against Maffra by just two runs.
Chasing 150 for victory at Bundalaguah, Maffra was three runs from victory with two wickets in hand when Jesse Whelan was run-out.
Then with less than three overs remaining, John Butcher was caught by David Powell in the outfield for 30 to give Bundalaguah victory.
Jason Langshaw set the foundation for the chase with his 50 retired while Trevor Ingram scored 22.
For Bundalaguah, Pat Monaghan and Stuart Safstrom took two wickets each.
Earlier Bundalaguah was bowled out for 149 in its final over.
With a score of 48, opener Anthony Day was awarded man of the match.
Nick Allman took 4-24. Langshaw and Joe Pataki claimed two wickets each.
