IT WAS a day to win the toss and bat as the runs flowed in Sale-Maffra cricket.
Batting teams took full advantage of the ideal conditions on Saturday, Boisdale-Briagolong headed the list with 321 against Wurruk including a century from Toby Leeds.
Bundalaguah scored 9-283 against Maffra, Sale made 282 against Stratford, while the remaining match was more for the bowlers with Rosedale-Kilmany scoring 162 against Collegians, who was 1-24 at stumps.
BUNDALAGUAH openers Trevor Wrigglesworth, 65, and Nathan Fowler put on 51 and follow up scores from Tom Tudor, 85, and Nathan Massey, 54, who put on 107 in their fifth wicket partnership, helped the side reach 9-283.
With nine overs left to bat Bundalaguah was 5-235 and looked capable of passing the 300 mark, but Maffra fought back in the closing stages, taking four wickets and limiting the scoring to another 48 runs.
Kris Armistead, 3-56, and Nathan Magnuson, 2-35, shared the wickets for Maffra.
CENTURY maker Toby Leeds and Steve Noble, 34, put on 64 in their opening stand for Boisdale-Briagolong before Leeds, 105, and Richard Hughes, 61, kept the runs flowing, taking the score from 138 to 235.
Chris Dove also batted well for 32.
Aaron Lynch, 3-62 off 19 overs, and Richard Gleeson, 2-64, picked up the wickets for Wurruk.
CHRIS Aurisch's hard hitting 73 set Sale on the way to 282 against Stratford.
In just two matches for Sale, Aurisch has scored 127 runs.
In a contrast to its one day struggles with the bat, Sale had five players who scored 31 or better at Stratford.
Aurisch got solid support from Peter Roberts, 45; Greg Carmody, 39; Steve Parry, 35, and Nat Campbell, 31.
Luke Maguire, 3-39 off 11 overs, and Jie Van Berkel, 3-70 off 15, were the best of the Stratford bowlers.
At stumps, Stratford was on 1-28.
COMING together with Rosedale-Kilmany on 3-33 against Collegians, Brad Scott, 30, and Rohan Diamond, 30, steadied the ship, taking the score to 4-74 with a partnership of 41.
Anthony Dessent 31, John Brough and Craig Mayman helped Rosedale-Kilmany reach 162.
Stuart Anderson, 4-23 off 17 overs, Mark Nicholls, 1-33 off 17, picked up wickets with tight bowling for Collegians.
Collegians finished on 1-24 at stumps with Anthony Hurley on seven not out and Matt Foster 12 not out.
