Sale close to victory

30 Oct, 2009 04:00 AM
SALE is on the brink of opening its 2009-10 season account as round four of Sale-Maffra cricket resumes tomorrow.

The side needs 30 more runs with six wickets in hand to defeat Collegians.

At the crease will be Englishmen Pete Roberts, who is on five, and captain Steve Parry, three.

Still to bat for Sale are Nat Campbell and Rob Del Busso.

Collegians will need to be on the ball early tomorrow, but has the bowling attack to trouble the Sale batsmen, such as Mitch Davis, Luke Henderson, Mark Nicholls and Stuart Anderson.

Chris Malone kept Collegians in the match with his three wickets late on day one.

Elsewhere, Bundalaguah would be favoured to win its match against Stratford, Boisdale-Briagolong will be keen to press home its advantage against Rosedale-Kilmany and Maffra needs 166 more runs to defeat Wurruk.
