SALE pulled off the upset of round four of Sale-Maffra cricket, defeating Collegians.
In reply to Collegians' 112, Sale resumed at 4-83 with Peter Roberts and Steve Parry still at the wicket and just starting to settle in. They continued to chip away at their target with Roberts scoring 75 and Parry 64, adding 116 in their match winning fifth wicket partnership with the side finishing on 225.
The English visitors did well to set up Sale's first win of the season and judging by the form of Roberts and Parry, it won't be their last.
With the inclusion of Chris Aurisch and the two English boys, Sale will be a very competitive unit for the remainder of the season.
Stuart Anderson as usual bowled tight, taking 4-41 off his 22 overs, and Chris Malone finished with 3-22 off nine overs.
Collegians reached 2-63 in their second innings when stumps were called with Travis Ronaldson on 29 not out.
BUNDALAGUAH made easy work of Stratford, scoring 214 in reply to 133.
Bundalaguah resumed at 0-49 before Trevor Wrigglesworth was out for 31, but Mark Grosveld, with a top score of 65, held the innings together.
Adam Phillips, 3-39, and Jie Van Berkel, 2-61 off 27 overs, picked up mid-innings wickets but Stratford did not have enough runs on the board.
At 4-100, Nathan King, 47, and Grosveld put on 72 for the fifth wicket to seal victory for Bundalaguah.
The Bundalaguah boys batted with black arm bands as a mark of respect for former club champion Laurie Stephenson, who passed away playing bowls at Maffra last Saturday.
John Mayman took 3-24 for Stratford.
ROSEDALE-Kilmany fought back from its day one stumps score of 3-38 to reach a fighting 204, falling 28 runs short of Boisdale-Briagolong's total.
Cameron Mayne top-scored with 60, getting solid support from Brad Scott, 53, and Rohan Diamond, 27.
Jason Phillips, 3-56, and Steve Noble, 3-47, were the best of the Boisdale-Briagolong bowlers.
Boisdale-Briagolong finished on 2-84 at stumps in its second innings with Chris Lawson 35 not out and Ben May 18 not out.
AFTER a late start, Maffra defeated Wurruk.
The Maffra innings was reduced to 58 overs after the start was delayed because rain from Friday seeped under the covers.
Chasing 177, Maffra lost 2-20 then Brett Lanigan retired hurt with an arm injury after being struck by a rising ball.
Adrian Burgiel, 66, and Tom Love, 27, put on 101 for the third wicket.
Daniel Cameron also batted well for 26.
Rick Gleeson was the best of the Wurruk bowlers taking 3-62 off 18 overs.
