Gafa first to Glenmaggie

THE 32nd Morwell to Glenmaggie 65km handicap classic was won by Traralgon rider Danny Gafa last Sunday.

Warragul veteran rider Geoff Thompson came second with Joe Makowski, Traralgon, third.

Gafa also took the fastest time when the group he raced with pulled a further 1:05 minutes from the scratch bunch which started four min behind it.

The first female home was Wellington junior rider Olivia Verey.

The first junior was Cyrus Monk from the Warragul, while the lantern rouge for last rider home went John Bodey from Wellington.

Gafa's winning time was 1:37.20 hours.

Shane Stiles from Warragul was the first scratchman home in 1:38.15h around 10 minutes off the current race record held by Stiles.

Forty-four riders from four different Gippsland clubs entered the race and were divided into seven bunches starting at various times.
