THE Sale and District Show Jumping Club's awards and quiz night was held on August 28 with more than 60 members and attending.

THE pro-am qualifier earlier this month was well-supported with pony clubs in the East Gippsland Zone well represented, several fielding more than one rider.
The height classes on both days were also well supported, with local and visiting riders taking advantage of a chance to jump different courses before the upcoming gymkhanas and shows.
The official classes on the Sunday attracted quality riders and included several combinations having a hit out before the nationals in Canberra.
The pro-am is an initiative of the Sale and District Show Jumping Club to encourage the sport of show jumping and to involve riders at the grass roots level while providing a unique opportunity for these kids to ride alongside the riders they read about.
The club invites C graded combinations from pony clubs in the East Gippsland Zone to compete in a two-round qualifier from which the highest ranked rider from each club is selected to represent their club at the Elms Spring Jumping Classic in late November.
The pony club riders will pair up with a senior show jump rider on the Sunday of the Elms Classic and compete in an exciting warm up event to the World Cup event.
Last year's event saw Olympian Gavin Chester pair up with Sarah Jolly from the Sale Pony Club to claim first place and Tom King from Swifts Creek Pony Club teamed with Olympic champion Wendy Schaeffer finishing a close second.
This years Elms Spring Jumping Classic event promises to be bigger and better than ever.
