MAFFRA remains a game clear on top of the West Gippsland-Latrobe football ladder following a 39-point win at Garfield.
The match was effectively over by three-quarter time as the Eagles' lead reached 64 points before a spirited fightback from the Stars in the final term.
The Eagles welcomed back David Adams, Hayden Burgiel and Michael Coleman, but were missing the injured Ben Robbins and unavailable Daniel Stubbe.
Even without Stubbe in the forward line, the visitors were potent in attack with Nick Horsford booting five goals in a best-on-ground effort, while ruckman Owen Booth and Burgiel each kicked three.
Coleman, Ben Durrant, Craig Robbins and Sam Walker ran the ball well in the midfield, setting up goal-scoring opportunities.
The Eagles took control of the match early, getting away to a 25-point lead at quarter-time. It was more of the same in the second term as they took a 52-point break into the long break.
The gap was extended to 64 points by the final change after a five-goal to four third term.
Zeke Hower stood tall at centre half-forward for the Stars as the home side out-scored the Eagles in the final quarter, six goals to two, but the damage had already been done as Maffra went on to win 17.13 (115) to 12.4 (76).
Matthew Hobbs, Mal McKenna and Rhyse Shortis in the forward line and defenders Rick Kamphuis and Phil Burns were the Stars' best.
Maffra only conceded one goal as it crushed Garfield by 155 points in the reserves. Jake Milham kicked six goals to move to the top of the league goalkicking table.
In the fourths, the Eagles had a 74-point win, while there was no thirds game as the Stars have been unable to field a side in the grade this season.
TRARALGON scored a record victory over Leongatha.
The Maroons' won 29.14 (188) to 9.7 (61) with its score, 127-point margin and Tim Aitken's 12 goals all club records against the Parrots.
Aitken's record ironically surpasses that of Adrian Campbell, who is now Leongatha's coach.
Rohan Hore proved too good for Justin Sutherland in the ruck while coach Steve Hazelman, Matt Smith, Jamie Aitken and Michael Burge dominated in the midfield.
Brad Rayson and Dwayne Holt, who kicked five goals, were best for the Parrots, who have now lost three games in a row.
MOE claimed local bragging rights after a two-goal win over rival Morwell on Sunday.
The Lions led throughout, but the Tigers were able to stay within touching distance however couldn't take the lead despite having three more scoring shots for the match.
Defenders Peter Ainsworth and Lion Carolan were the visitors' best in their 17.13 (115) to 14.19 (103) win. Matt Forys kicked six goals.
Onballers Joel Soutar and Brett Knowles were Morwell's best.
