MAFFRA will complete its finals preparation with Saturday's home match against Garfield.
Maffra, equal on 44 points with Traralgon, is on top of the ladder and that's how it will finish, with the Eagles looking certain to win their remaining matches.
The Eagles are playing confident football.
They were challenged in their match against Leongatha by the young Parrots, but kicked away with a seven goal to one point last quarter.
Owen Booth has had a good season in the ruck for the Eagles, setting up chances for on-ball and mid field players.
Craig and Ben Robbins, Ben Durrant, Gary Jones and Hayden Burgiel have made good use of the opportunities that come their way
They have created the supply line that has helped key forwards Daniel Stubbe and Adrian Burgiel kick match winning goals and Nick Horsford has also been good up forward.
Brendon Rathnow and Michael Coleman have been getting plenty of the ball on the wings, and in defence Sam Bristow, Glen Semmens, Ben Batalha, Josh Stubbe and Matt Lee have made life difficult for opposing forwards
The Eagles are very even and certain to be right in the fight for the 2009 flag.
Garfield has applied to join the Ellinbank league next season, and for such a small community, it has been competitive at this level and everyone will be sorry to see it leave.
Players like the Marsh boys, Mal McKenna, the Reid boys and Brent Eastwell have kept Garfield afloat this season after the loss of several of last year's key players.
Magpies' last round
ON a high after a big win over Moe, Sale is looking forward to the trip to Warragul for its last match of the season.
With the bye in the last round, the Magpies are keen to make it two wins in a row.
The Gulls are four points out of the five and they have a poor percentage, but Drouin, only four points clear of Warragul, has the bye, then the tough game against Maffra in the last round.
The Gulls will be looking to players like Matt Gray, Ryan Davey, Desi Barr and Nathan Lieshout up forward to get them going against the Magpies.
The Magpies worked the ball out of the centre well against Moe, with Toby Leeds and Mitch Davis doing well in the ruck.
At ground level Adrian Cox, Russ McAdam, Chris Laverty and Darcy Thorpe have been good up forward with Nick Fowler, Kane Fraser, Tom Hams and Justin McLay kicking goals.
The defence, led by Andrew Quirk, Luke Bates, Joel Wallace, Liam Hogan, Corey Scholtes, Lachlan Todd and Toby Leeds, worked well against Moe to turn defence into attack.
It will be a fast moving, high standard match with the Magpies a real chance to repeat last year's narrow win at Warragul.
Maroons the team to beat
TRARALGON is shaping up to be the team to beat for this year's flag and it will be too strong for the young Leongatha players.
The Maroons are on top of the senior ladder, also on top of the reserves, second to Maffra on the under 18 ladder and on top of the under 16 ladder, so there is no lack of depth.
Tim Johnston, Jamie Aitken and Michael Geary have all been kicking goals for the Maroons, but delivery from the on-ball and mid field players has made their task easy.
The Maroons for another comfortable win.
Moe to make amends
MOE will be keen to make amends for its lack-lustre display at Sale, and should bounce back for a win over Morwell.
The Lions will be keen to get Chris Hancock and Troy Makepeace back on the ground.
With Matt Forys, Petrou and Smogavec up forward, the Lions will be too strong for the Tigers.
