PETER Morrison has been unveiled as Stratford Football-Netball Club's new senior coach.
In a major coup, Morrison, a former South Melbourne and Footscray player, will take to the helm of the Swans, with whom he began playing senior football as a 15-year-old.
The new coach is excited about the season ahead.
Returning to the region after coaching in Brisbane and Cairns, Morrison eagerly watched the local leagues from the outer with a burning desire to coach again coming to the fore.
"I returned to Sale the middle of last year and started watching local footy from a distance and thought that I wasn't too far off the mark when it came to my coaching philosophies and theories,'' he said.
"I had a burning ambition to have one more go at the coaching caper and after assisting Neil Bristow with the Stratford under 14 side and watching the senior and under 18 sides I could see the potential of the young list.''
Current and prospective players are invited to meet Morrison and hear the coach and club outline plans for the coming season with a `meet the coach' family day being this Sunday at the Stratford Recreation Reserve from noon.
