Neither side was able to gain the upper hand in this match with Maffra's goals scored by Sharon Mogridge and Karen Humphris.
Sale Swans had a comfortable 10 - 0 over Wurruk, who continues to show improvement.
Heather Andrews scored five goals, Ursula Barnsley two, with one each from Jane Begin, Larissa Lever and Lib Lyon.
Sale Cygnets continued its recent good form with a 3-0 win over Nagle. Cobie Canny scored two goals with one from Renee Mayall.
NAGLE worked hard and played with great determination to restrict Sale to a 2-2 draw. Goals for Sale were scored by Craig Baker and Mark Benfield, while Jake Clemm and Blake Stevens found the back of the net for Nagle.
Orbost was too strong for an undermanned Maffra, taking the match 8-2. Alex MacArthur and Greg Lonsdale scored for Maffra.
A Scott Gillett goal gave Bairnsdale a 1-0 win over Wurruk.
EAST Gippsland hockey will resume on Saturday, July 11 because of the junior country championships in Melbourne and the school holidays.
