Mark Benfield scored twice to help Sale win its second semi-final 2-0 against this year's big improver Bairnsdale.

Bairnsdale will play in tomorrow's preliminary final against Orbost, who defeated last year's runner-up Swan Reach 2-0 in the first semi-final.

THE women's second semi-final between Maffra Red and Orbost was another typically tough encounter.

Orbost took the lead after 15 minutes with a goal from Stephanie Coote.

Maffra upped the pressure before Karen Humphris scored the equaliser just before half-time.

The second half saw both teams apply pressure, but both defences held up to keep the scores equal.

Extra time was played out with still no further score, this meant Maffra went through to the grand final due to finishing on top of the ladder.

Nagle won the first semi-final against Swan Reach 2-0 and will meet Orbost in the preliminary final.

THE preliminary finals will be played at the WORLD ground in Bairnsdale on Saturday.
