The Wurruk women tried hard all day but, with just eight players, was never able to match up to the Maffra side.

Karen Humphris scored six goals for Maffra with five from Kate Steinmann, three from Sharon Mogridge, two from Caitlin Frisina and one each from Kate O'Toole, Vicki McClelland and Emily Mogridge.

Maffra Black lost to last year's runner-up Orbost 8-0.

Four goals were scored by Stefanie Coote with one each to Bree Cotter, Emma Christy, Belinda Coulton and Maddi Fercondo.

A 1-1 draw between the Sale Swans and Sale Cygnets was a fitting result for a good quality game. Heather Andrews scored for the Swans and Peta Mayall for the Cygnets.

WURRUK won a fast-paced men's match against Maffra, 3-2.

Both teams had high quality passages of play when they dominated and were able to score.

Wurruk was unlucky to miss two penalty strokes, which was partly due to good goalkeeping.

Wurruk's goals were scored by Ray Longmuir, Richard Hill and Scott Nolan with Maffra's coming from Gavin Cowie and Kate O'Toole.

Sale was too strong for Bairnsdale, winning 2-0 with goals from Kevin Arbuthnot and Grant Hugo.

TOMORROW Swan Reach will play Sale at Lakes Entrance in all divisions with the men's game a grand final rematch.

Wurruk will visit Orbost with its Wurruk under 18 side making its debut in the competition.

Bairnsdale will be at home to Maffra for its men's and junior games.

Nagle will host Maffra Black in women's and Churchill in men's with Sale Swans hosting Maffra Red in the women's.
