FEMALE riders were in good form at Greenwattle on Monday with Linda Meech leading the way with a winning double.
Meech combined with Cranbourne trainer Quinton Scott to win race four, the 1200 metres maiden plate, with Tigerpuss.
Scott has spent most of his life in the racing game, his grandfather Tom Scott was a successful trainer in the state's north-east for many years and his late father Digger Scott was a leading rider there.
Meech completed her riding double on Scenic Find for Moe trainer Len Xuereb in race six.
Michelle Payne, who bobs up with winners at Sale on a regular basis, won race two, the 1700m maiden plate, on Huli Jing, trained by Colin Little.
Former South Australian apprentice Melissa Walters, in her first ride at Sale, also impressed with two minor placings.
Walters finished second on Kel Culate, trained by Michael Kent, in race five then came third on Michael Kent's Robdon Flyer in race six.
Local galloper Haka Brave, trained by Cliff Murray, was back in form with a good run to finish second to Scenic Find in race six.
Peter Moody and Luke Nolen combined to win race one, the two-year-old maiden plate, with first starter Hanks.
Sir Puddles, ridden by Ben Melham, won race three from Casual Friday, Chris Symons, and Shagsine, Daniel Moor.
After winning race two, Caulfield trainer Colin Little completed his double as Rain In Africa, ridden by Danny Brereton, won race five, the first leg of the quaddie.
Take The Cash, ridden by Logan McGill, won race seven and Mornington trainer Russell Cleland and Brian Higgins combined to win the last with Ultradane.
It was another excellent day's racing at Greenwattle, the next raceday will be held on Tuesday, June 9.
