Six-all draw in touch

GIPPSLAND Grammar Barbarians and Nagle College draw their touch game 6-all.

At half-time Nagle led 4-3 before the Barbarians regrouped in the second half to even the score.

Barbarians' Andrew Nicholas and Paul Toney each scored their first tries for the season. Other scorers were Josh Deschepper, Lester Gould, Alex Rowles and Rowan Salerman.

For Nagle, Chris Gascoigne top-scored with three tries. Drew Pryor Holmes scored two with Hector Ta'ala one.

Best players were Ta'ala, Chris Riley and Gould with Gascoigne winning the encouragement award.

Payless Promotions had a narrow 5-4 win over the Gippsland Grammar Swans.

The game was won in the second half with a late try from the Promotions.

Payless Promotions scorers were Matthew Walker with two and one each to Phil Randerson and Corey Siebel.

For the Swans, Jake Cockburn scored two with Aiden Commins and Daniel Kinsella one each.

Best players were Randerson, Davin Johnson and Jose Faktauon. Josh Woods won the encouragement award.

Mancans defeated Phoenix 6-3. At half-time the score was tied at 2-all however in the second half Mancans showed its class to run away with the win.

Mancans scorers were Gerard Bonaventura with two tries and one each to Sharon Butt, Aaron Spencer, Mark Spencer and Matt Cutler.

For Phoenix Ursula Barnsley, Matthew Lever and Gavin O'Shanassy each scored a try.

Best players were Elizabeth Scott, Peter Murdoch and Barnsley with Butt winning the encouragement award.

CAT's defeated a youthful Sale College 9-3.

The College had 16 players with plenty of enthusiasm with Bohdi Walker top scoring with two tries. Alex Pryor scored one.

Scorers for CAT's were James Melville with five tries, Corey Buys, Bree Walsh and Adrian Whittaker one each. This was Walsh's first try for the season.

Best players were Walker, Melville and Pete Calvert with Anna Calvert winning the encouragement award.

Porky's pines played the new team Medics in a practice match.

Wednesday's draw:

6.30pm: Nagle v CAT's (Phoenix referee), Gippsland Grammar Swans v Medics (Paul Toney referee); 7.20pm: Sale College v Phoenix (Mancans referee), Porky's Pines v Gippsland Grammar Barbarians (Payless referee); 8.10pm: Mancans v Payless (Porky's Pines referee).
