Phoenix won the game in the first half when it had four tries to three.

Brad Light and David Ropeti each scored two tries for Phoenix with Matthew Lever one.
Best players were Light, Cockburn and Mwagiru with Lexi Joyce winning the encouragement award.
An under-manned Mancans team defeated the Gippsland Grammar Barbarians four tries to three.
In his first game for the season, Gerard Bonaventura top-scored for Mancans with two tries in the first half.
Other scorers were Elizabeth Scott and John Woodhouse.
Henry Ropeti was the only scorer for the Barbarians with three tries.
Best players were Chris Riley, Bonaventura and Alex Rowles with Logan Deschepper winning the encouragement award.
Porky's Pine defeated Sale College, 6-1 with fleet-footed Ryan Walsh scoring three tries. Other scorers were Steve Deveney, Colin Haywood and Prue McNaughton with Bohdi Walker the only scorer for the College.
