Vandersteen dominates

SALE Swimming Club's James Vandersteen dominated the 13 to 14 years boys' age group at the Warragul Warriors junior swim meet held on October 4.

James won five gold and two silver medals, as well as breaking the magical minute in the 100m freestyle event with a time of 59.57 seconds.

Ian Melrose also swam well, winning four gold and a silver in the boys' 11-12 years, while Cameron Goodison picked up three gold, a silver and a bronze in the boys' 15 years and over.

Best for the girls were Hayley Castle and Shaylee Wedlock. Hayley won three gold and two silver in the girls' eight and under events and Shaylee finished with two gold, four silver and three bronze in the 11-12 girls'.
